The role holder is responsible for the Design, plan and optimization of the wireless radio access network,including radio propagation modelling and prediction,interference analysis, frequency coordination and parameter definition. Also overseeing the design, deployment, and optimization of wireless telecommunications networks. Responsible for planning and optimization of GSM, UMTS, LTE.
They will be required to formulate radio coverage and capacity design guidelines, forecasting and strategies as per company client guidelines. Managing the design phase will include overseeing predeployment equipment analysis, technology assessment, radio network planning, access planning, and interference analysis, demand planning, test and measurement of the equipment, and interfacing with the market development team. In the optimization stage, main tasks are to supervise optimal network performance, KPI and network statistics analysis, and parameter optimization.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Automation of complex, manual and error-prone processes.
- Achieve & maintain the Radio Network Performance as per the contracted OSS KPIs (Accessibility,
- Availability, Retain ability Mobility & Service Integrity) within company set thresholds.
- Participate in developing internal process used for radio network design and Optimization.
- Collaborates with legal, SLT and CA to ensure regulatory compliance; Support other business units
- on technical evaluation of RF solutions on existing and emerging technology plans and strategies
- Ensuring response and closure to all Customer complaints within stipulated
- Conducting consistency checks on radio parameters for 2G/3G/4G and daily execute corrections with the RNPO guidelines.
- Analyse Drive test reports including benchmarking reports and implement optimization
- recommendations suggested. Identify pockets of poor network quality RXQUAL, MOS and suggest resolutions for clearing interference and KPI degradations.
- Defining Network dimensioning tasks to address capacity and coverage requirements
- Preparation of network/cells KPIs statistics for analysis of incident reports.
- Preparation of spectrum plans and annual spectrum fee submissions.
- Managing & reviewing the results of all defined radio Optimization procedures, preparing the optimization processes for the workflow, weekly reports, templates, tracking database and time schedule
- Develop and adhere to radio planning guidelines on rollout and planning
- Handling of trials projects, Feature Testing, POC for new products/features & produce trial detailed reports & Business Case Analysis. Follow up on Special Projects assigned to RNPO with technical reports and results and practicing Efficient Financial Management.
- Foreseeing radio site surveys, site candidate evaluation / selection and link budget planning for both new radio site integration and/or radio site relocation.
- Define and/or adapt processes and procedures for RF engineering tasks including raising Change requests for network changes.
Academic background & Professional Knowledge Required
- BSC in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Telecommunication, ICT or related technical course
- A minimum of 8 years’ experience in RAN Network planning and Optimisation in a multi-vendor scenario
Technical Competencies
- GSM/WCDMAand LTE mobile network concepts
- Musthave worked with ZTE/Huawei/NEC RAN Equipment
- Knowledgeon RAN Features/Roadmaps/equipment lifecycles
- Provenexperience in the use of U2000/PRS/NETNUMEN/NETSPAN/MAPINFO/ACTIX/NEMO/ ATOLL and Planet Planning tool
